Clean & Care

Jewelry is meant to be worn, loved, and lived in — but a little care goes a long way in keeping your Wild Fern pieces looking their best.

Because each piece is handcrafted using natural materials, gentle care will help preserve its beauty over time.

General Care

To keep your jewelry in good shape, I recommend:

  • Removing jewelry before swimming, showering, or washing hands

  • Avoiding contact with chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products

  • Taking jewelry off before sleeping or heavy activity

  • Storing pieces in a dry place when not in use

Sterling Silver & Metals

Sterling silver may naturally tarnish over time — this is normal and part of wearing real metal.

  • A soft polishing cloth can be used to restore shine

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh scrubbing

  • Patina and subtle wear are part of the story of handmade jewelry

Brass and copper may darken or develop patina with wear. Many people love this aged look, but pieces can be gently polished if you prefer a brighter finish.

Stones & Natural Materials

Wild Fern jewelry often features natural stones, each chosen for its unique color, texture, and energy. Because these materials are formed by nature, no two stones are exactly alike.

Some stones are more delicate than others and should be worn with care. I recommend avoiding water, chemicals, and heavy impact, and removing stone-set pieces before activities that may cause damage.

Small variations, inclusions, and markings are part of what make natural stones special and unique.

  • Avoid soaking stone-set jewelry in water

  • Be mindful of impact — stones can chip or crack if dropped

  • Some stones are more delicate than others and should be worn with care

A Note on Handmade Jewelry

Each Wild Fern piece is made by hand and designed to be worn, not kept perfect. Small marks, patina, and signs of wear are part of the journey and make your jewelry uniquely yours.
